Yoga Tour “India and Nepal”, in which we will visit places associated with the life of Buddha Shakyamuni, as he bequeathed to those who follow the Path of self-development, as well as places of practice of other great yogis and yoginis. And not so much with the aim of “looking” as – “to practice”.

Yoga Tour India and Nepal in March 2023

1 day. Arrival to Delhi

  • Transfer to local airport and flight to Varanasi airport.
  • 12: 00-13: 00 – transfer to Sarnath, excursion. Lunch.
  • 16.00 Transfer to Varanasi, Ganga, gathi. Boat trip on the Ganges. 17: 00-22.00 Transfer to Bodhgaya, accommodation. Recreation.

2nd day. Bodhgaya

  • In the morning – yoga practice on the territory of the Mahabodhi complex (near the Bodhi tree).
  • Hatha yoga, pranayama.
  • Breakfast.
  • Afternoon – excursion in the park by the Mahabodhi tree. Lecture on self-improvement, yoga and Buddhism.
  • Free time to explore the city.
  • Dinner.
  • In the evening – chanting the OM mantra at the Bodhi tree.

Day 3. Bodhgaya

  • In the morning – yoga practice on the territory of the Mahabodhi complex (near the Bodhi tree).
  • Hatha yoga, pranayama.
  • Breakfast.
  • In the afternoon – a lecture on self-improvement, yoga and Buddhism.
  • Free time to explore the city.
  • Dinner.
  • In the evening – chanting the OM mantra at the Bodhi tree.

4th day. Bodhgaya

  • Early in the morning – departure to Mahakala cave. Practice yoga in a cave.
  • Breakfast.
  • Free time to explore the city, personal yoga practice.
  • Dinner.
  • In the evening – chanting the OM mantra at the Bodhi tree.

Day 5. Bodhgaya

  • In the morning – yoga practice on the territory of the Mahabodhi complex (near the Bodhi tree).
  • Hatha yoga, pranayama.
  • Breakfast.
  • Free time to explore the city, buy souvenirs.
  • Dinner.
  • In the evening – chanting the OM mantra at the Bodhi tree.

6th day. Nalanda. Rajgir

  • Early in the morning – departure from Bodhgaya to Rajgir (Mount Grigrakutta). Practice meditation on the mountain, meeting the dawn. A story about this place, a lecture on self-improvement.
  • Accommodation at the hotel in Rajgir.
  • In the afternoon, drive to Nalanda (approximately 30 minutes from Rajgir).
  • A story about this place, the practice of hatha yoga.
  • Dinner.
  • Recreation.

7th day. Vaishali-Kushinagar

  • Early in the morning – departure to Vaishali.
  • Practice yoga in a park in Vaishali.
  • Visit to the park where the actions described in the Vimalakirti nerdesh sutra took place. Hatha yoga practice. Lecture about Vaishali.
  • Departure to Kushinagar.
  • Visit to the place of Buddha’s departure to nirvana.
  • Evening practice of the OM mantra at the stupa.
  • Accommodation, rest.

Day 8. Kushinagar-Lumbini

  • Early in the morning – departure to the border with Nepal.
  • Crossing the border.
  • In Lumbini hotel accommodation.
  • Visit to the birthplace of Buddha.
  • Lecture on self-improvement, yoga and Buddhism in the park.
  • Practice Hatha Yoga and OM mantra.

Day 9. Lumbini – Kapilavastu – Lumbini

  • Early in the morning – departure to Kapilavastu.
  • Morning practice of hatha yoga.
  • Return to Lumbini.
  • Breakfast.
  • Free time to visit monasteries of different countries in the park in Lumbini.
  • Dinner.
  • Evening practice of the OM mantra.

Day 10. Kathmandu

  • Departure to Kathmandu at 4-5 am. Transfer about 8 hours.
  • Accommodation in Kathmandu at the hotel.
  • Visit to Bodnath.
  • Conversation with Bodnath. Personal yoga practice.
  • Dinner.
  • Evening practice of OM mantra on the roof of the hotel.

Day 11. Kathmandu. Namo buddha

  • Morning practice of meditation and hatha yoga.
  • Breakfast.
  • Visit to Swayambudnath stupa.
  • Free time.
  • Dinner.
  • Evening practice of OM mantra on the roof of the hotel.

Day 12.

  • Morning practice of meditation and hatha yoga.
  • Breakfast.
  • Free time, shopping for souvenirs, personal yoga practice.
  • Dinner.
  • Final meeting-meeting at sunset: exchange of impressions of the trip.
  • Evening practice of OM mantra on the roof of the hotel.

Day 13.

  • Morning practice of hatha yoga.
  • Breakfast.
  • Departure to Kathmandu airport.
  • Flight to Delhi.

Day 14.

Flight to Moscow.


Practice: yoga in India

In our yoga tour you will find:

  • daily classes of hatha yoga or pranayama (depending on the weather conditions, we will do either asanas or pranayamas (breathing exercises to accumulate energy);
  • conversations on topics of Vedic culture and stories about the places that we will visit during the yoga tour;
  • traditional part of the program: chanting the OM mantra.

During the yoga tour to India, lectures are planned both on the history and practices of Buddhism and Vedic culture in general; where possible, we will conduct yoga classes, practice pranayama and meditation. Yoga in India, in places of great practitioners, is filled with special meaning.

If you are practicing recently, do not practice at all, but want to go, or someone close to you wants to go on a yoga tour with you, this is also possible, since travel is very interesting from a tourist point of view.

Yoga tour to India and Nepal, to the places of life of great yogis

Bodhgaya – the place where Buddha attained enlightenment.

Gridkhkuta – a place near the city of Rajgir, where Buddha still reads the “Lotus Sutra of the Good Law”.

Tathagata – the highest title among teachers who are on the path of development and dissemination of knowledge.

Shariputra was born and lived after completing his initial training with the Buddha, in the city of Rajgir. Shariputra was responsible for the spiritual development of this region. There he was cremated.

Ananda – Buddha’s nephew. The purpose of Ananda, thanks to his phenomenal memory, is to memorize all the Buddha’s speeches and expound them. Ananda lived for 250 years and was buried in Vaishali. His ash stupa is in Vaishali, which the Oum Club visits every year.

Rahula – the son of the Buddha, who, when he came of age, became a disciple of the Buddha. Rahula’s soul in future lives will always be born as the son of future tathagatas.

Tilopa – an outstanding yogi of the past. We can say that he was the founder of the Karma Kagyu lineage. Tilopa had a disciple Naropa, Naropa had Marpa, Marpa had Milarepa, Milarepa’s disciples began to develop the Karma Kagyu, which has survived in the same form to this day.

The cost of a yoga tour to India are included: buses in India and Nepal, all hotels, Nepalese visa, yoga program (detailed below), entrance fees where applicable.

Excluded: flights (usually spending about 30,000 rubles on them, the earlier we take tickets, the cheaper), Indian visa, meals (about $ 100-200 for the whole trip).
