Lebedins were told about the flu and vaccinations. On October 9, a seminar on a relevant topic was held at the LebGOK-Health Polyclinic. The speaker was Tatyana Rychkova – PhD, pulmonologist, allergist-immunologist, associate professor of the Department of Pediatrics, Moscow State Medical and Dental University. A.I. Evdokimova. The public’s doctors, trade union leaders of the units and employees of the Lebedinsky GOK, who are responsible for social affairs in their departments, received answers to the most important questions about the prevention of influenza and SARS.
Employer participation in the vaccination campaign is a responsible and important step.

What is the insidious flu and how to determine it?
The first sign is a very high body temperature. Later – a choking cough. But if the nose dripped and a sore throat, it’s not flu, it’s a commonplace cold or SARS. What to do with the flu? Lie down in bed and call a doctor. In no case should you take aspirin – it causes fragility of blood vessels, which in turn can provoke hemorrhage anywhere in the body. It is better to take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and antiviral drugs. The doctor should prescribe the treatment regimen.
Influenza is insidious precisely with complications. It causes pneumonia very quickly. A person can neither sleep nor breathe normally, for a long time a terrifying cough “hits” him – the disease, as a rule, is very difficult. But people who have been vaccinated against the flu either do not get sick at all, or they carry the virus much easier and recover faster. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines vaccination as the process by which a person gains immunity or becomes immune to an infectious disease. Vaccines stimulate the body's own immune system to protect a person from a corresponding infection or disease.
– At the enterprise in the season from 5 to 30% of employees can get sick. Outbreaks of influenza and SARS in a team disorganize the production process, labor losses are 3-7 days for each mild and severe case of influenza and SARS, 2-3 weeks – with the development of complications, deaths are possible. Vaccination will allow not only to preserve the health of workers, but also to prevent a decline in production and economic losses. All modern flu vaccines, both domestic and foreign, are highly effective and safe, their composition fully complies with the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
Tatyana Ivanovna also emphasized that the participation of the employer in the vaccination campaign is a responsible step, which is a serious contribution to the state policy in the field of healthcare.
For many years, the vaccine “VACSIGRIP” has been used at Lebedinsky GOK. The drug is used to prevent influenza in adults and children from 6 months of age, it forms the development of specific immunity to influenza virus strains of types A and B. Immunity is produced between the second and third week after vaccination and lasts from 6 to 12 months. Vaccination is especially indicated for people at increased risk of developing post-influenza complications, especially with chronic diseases of the internal organs. According to Tatyana Rachkova, "VACSIGRIP" is well studied, it is used in more than 120 countries of the world, they have been vaccinated with us since 1968.
Myths and legends about the flu
The Moscow doctor gladly answered numerous questions from the seminar participants. In particular, she dispelled the myth of the artificial origin of viruses, and explained why they are not affected by antimicrobial agents.
– A virus is a fragment of genetic material surrounded by a protective protein coat. It cannot function outside the cell, and when it enters it damages the genetic material of the host cell and triggers the reproduction mechanisms of its own kind. It is this uncontrolled division that explains the high ability to become infected and the wide spread of viruses, ”said the candidate of medical sciences.
Modern science does not have effective methods of treating viral infections. The difficulty lies in the fact that viruses are intracellular parasites, so they are not affected by antibiotics. One of the most promising areas of treatment for viral infections is the stimulation of natural immunity. For this, in fact, the population is being immunized.
“Our main task,” the lecturer concluded, “is to protect people from infection and save their lives.”
Head of the economic department of the freight and passenger transportation:
– Such lectures at one time “turned” my mind. I used to be an opponent of flu shots, as it turned out, just out of ignorance. Now I regularly get vaccinated myself and plan to vaccinate children.
Chairman of the trade union committee for railway transport:
– I’ve been vaccinated for more than 10 years, I’m practically not sick, and if I get sick, then in a mild form. Regarding the seminar, I’ll say – very informative, many examples, historical facts, arguments in favor of vaccination. About 400 people are vaccinated annually at the URT, thus creating an immunological layer that enables the unit to get out of seasonal diseases without any significant loss. Opinion For almost 60 years, people have been vaccinated against this, without exaggeration, terrible disease. But still, inexorable statistics annually note a high mortality rate from a viral infection. Scientists state and delayed death. This is when a person dies from exacerbations of chronic diseases of the internal organs provoked by the transferred flu. Particularly affected are infants and the elderly. The virus we bring to you, able-bodied residents of our vast country, hoping to "pass" the disease on their feet. As a result, we fall down ourselves, infect colleagues, relatives and friends – all around …
