Homeopathy as a science was proposed by the German scientist Samuel Hahnemann at the beginning of the 19th century. Hahnemann received his traditional medical education, but was disappointed in bloodletting and mercury medicine. Therefore, he turned his attention to parallel medical theories.

How homeopathy lived two hundred years without evidence
Homeopathy is based on a special approach to patients. The "treatment" of homeopaths is more expensive, but it is more pleasant for people to come to the reception.
Patients receive more attention and medications that suit each person individually. Homeopaths drip their solutions onto sugar balls that need to be kept under the tongue. Satisfied patients feel "better" and recommend homeopaths to their loved ones.
In human studies, there is no evidence showing that homeopathy is effective in treating diseases (61 diseases). No qualitative study with a sufficient sample size has confirmed that homeopathy causes greater changes in health than placebo
Why is this dangerous?
Caring doctors and medications that the patient believes in help you feel better. This effect on well-being is called the placebo effect.
The placebo effect is confirmed by scientific research, but the problem is that this effect does not cure. A placebo makes you feel better, but does not change the course of the disease. Therefore, a patient who believes a homeopath has a risk of starting a serious illness.
When can homeopathy benefit?
Homeopathy helps when homeopaths recommend a regimen to patients that will help without medication. For example, a cold is treated for a week, if you rest, get enough sleep and drink plenty of water.
Homeopathy does not work
Homeopathic remedies help when a diluted substance is added to a beneficial base. A homeopathic hand cream based on petroleum jelly moisturizes your hands because petrolatum moisturizes your skin. A rose oil-based face mask will soften the skin due to oil, and not because there is a hypothetical molecule of silver carp tear.
Attitude to homeopathy
In the United States, in 2016, manufacturers of homeopathy were required to indicate on the package that the drug does not have proven effectiveness. And the British Health Service in 2017 issued an instruction for doctors not to prescribe homeopathic medicines to patients. In Ukraine, unfortunately, this is not so: homeopathy is considered an effective method of treatment, and its manufacturers skillfully disguise their preparations as real medicines.
Therefore, Ukrainians continue to buy sugar at the price of black caviar. For example, 20 thousand hryvnias cost a kilogram of “Ocilococcinum”, each gram of which contains 99.9% sucrose and lactose.
