Overweight and cancer go hand in hand.
If a person’s body weight begins to increase in adulthood, at the same time, the risk of developing several types of cancer increases by 30-50%, Australian scientists found.
According to them, people whose weight until 30 years remained stable, and after that increased, are at a greater risk of developing cancer than those who maintain a healthy weight even in adulthood. This conclusion was made by scientists, observing 30 500 patients of clinics.
It turned out that the higher the body mass index (BMI), the higher the risk of developing 13 types of cancer: if BMI is exceeded, then by 30%, and if complete obesity is present, then by 50%.
Experts advise you to control your weight throughout your life and do everything so that the weight does not go beyond reasonable limits. By the way, according to statistics, in Russia, more than 2 million people have a diagnosis of obesity. Of these, 450 thousand learned that they exceeded all conceivable indicators by weight, for the first time in 2018.
