– stated the authors of the study.
Diseases causing severe COVID-19
Hypertension, diabetes and coronary heart disease are the most common concomitant diseases in patients with severe coronavirus.
Complications of COVID-19 were due to respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and arrhythmia.
More than 80% of patients had very low levels of eosinophils in the blood. The number of these cells decreases with severe respiratory infections.
Despite the importance of the results, the study has its limitations.
Genetics may affect the immune response to the virus. In addition, the virus is susceptible to mutations, and observation was carried out at the beginning of the epidemic, scientists explained.
