The first tranche of influenza vaccine was received in the Belgorod region last week. Deputy head of the region Natalia Zubareva spoke about this yesterday, September 9, at a meeting with the governor.
According to the Deputy Governor, 87 thousand doses of children and 154 thousand adult influenza vaccines were delivered to the region – 43% of the total planned supply. The next tranche of the vaccine is expected at the end of the month.
According to the health department, more than 919 thousand Belgorod residents are planned to be vaccinated against influenza in this epidemic season. Within the framework of the National Calendar of Preventive Vaccinations at the expense of the federal budget, it is planned to vaccinate 698 324 residents of the region, including 182 179 children. Another 221,525 vaccinations are expected to be done as part of measures to prevent influenza and SARS, including COVID-19.
Deputy head of the region Natalia Zubareva clarified who will receive the vaccine in the first place:
These are teachers, these are social security workers, these are public sector workers and those groups of the population that are at risk – these are the age of 65+ and those people who are under medical supervision
Natalia Zubareva also said that the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 has not yet arrived in the region.
