Type "apple" is characterized by the deposition of fat around the waist. The owners of such a figure are three times higher risk of heart disease than the owners of the type "pear" with fatty deposits in the thighs.
In addition, the owners of the most pronounced "apple" form are twice as likely to suffer from heart attacks in comparison with 25% of other women whose fat is not stored around the waist.
Types of shapes
At the same time, a quarter of the participants in the study of owners of pear-type figures were 40% less likely to encounter various cardiovascular diseases than those with narrow hips.
Experts believe that this feature is caused by the fact that fat is differently distributed around the internal organs. For example, under its influence, the liver and pancreas secrete harmful chemicals into the blood that disrupt the normal functioning of the circulatory system.
Fat that accumulates on the thighs does not cause such harm, because it does not affect the important internal organs.
