In children, both drugs – ibuprofen and paracetamol (many trade names) are allowed to use at high temperature and pain, they said in the Club of Evidence-Based Medicine.

The effectiveness of drugs for children
Despite the possible side effects that any drug has, in general, they are both safe and, most importantly, effective. It is necessary to observe the dosage so that the drug works well: ibuprofen 10 mg / kg, paracetamol 15 mg / kg.
There are people who are not affected by the drug, that is, it is possible that your child is not affected by paracetamol, but ibuprofen works great. And vice versa. You will learn about this, unfortunately, only in practice.
Where and by whom the drug is made is also important. Ibuprofen has many studies, reviews, meta-analyzes dedicated to this particular issue of comparison of efficacy and safety.
Ibuprofen and paracetamol are almost equally effective
Drug Safety for Children
Severe toxic effects of both drugs are rare. Meta-analyzes confirm that the safety and tolerability of these two drugs when used for pain and fever in children is the same (we consider a short-term administration, that is, up to 7 days).
Paracetamol has a better safety record for the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys and respiratory tract. Ibuprofen has a slight advantage in reducing pain, discomfort and fever.
If you notice that the baby is getting worse, or the drugs do not help, or you have to shorten the interval between two doses, or just worry that something is going wrong, consult a doctor.
