A study by American scientists confirmed: the continued use of gadgets changes the brain of children.

The study involved 47 children aged three to five years. Such a sample is not indicative of behavioral psychology, but significant, as for MRI studies.
The essence of the study
First, parents were asked about how much time their children spend on gadgets, which applications they use the most, and whether adults are with them at that time.
The responses were structured into ratings according to the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
After that, all children underwent an MRI brain scan and a series of cognitive tests.

Children who spent more time in front of the screen had a different brain structure – below the “white matter integrity”,
– say the authors of the study.
White matter can be understood as the internal communication network of the brain.
Study author John Hatton explained that such a structure of nerve fibers is associated with poor development of speech and reading skills.
White matter – what is it? This is part of the central nervous system, consisting of pathways (nerve fibers). White is opposed to gray matter. The white color is due to the myelin sheath of nerve fibers that conduct nerve impulses.
White matter forms pathways connecting the brain to each other and to the spinal cord.
How much time can children spend with gadgets
Scientists note that calculating the "safe age" or "safe time" with gadgets is not easy.
In particular, they say that under three years old children should not play with smartphones, tablets and other popular gadgets at all.
Otherwise, already in kindergarten, the child will have a distorted perception of reality and a strong attachment to the virtual world.
