The World Health Organization believes that measuring temperature in passengers is an expensive and not quite effective procedure. The press service of WHO published this in updated recommendations.

The reason for the ineffectiveness of temperature screening is that the patient can be in the incubation period without symptoms, or take medications that lower the temperature.
“Monitoring body temperature at the entrance or exit is not in itself an effective way to prevent the spread of infection between countries, as infected individuals may be in the incubation period, they may not have obvious symptoms at an early stage of the disease, or they may take antipyretic and hide the symptoms. In addition, such activities require substantial investment, and there may be little benefit from this, "WHO informs.
The recommendations also noted that the restriction of travel and the prohibition of entry are mainly ineffective and have negative economic and social consequences. Such measures are only necessary in the early stages of an outbreak, as countries have more time to prepare, as well as for those countries with limited international ties and disease control capabilities.
