Results of vaccination against coronavirus volunteers
German BioNTech and US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer have announced preliminary results for the development of a vaccine against coronavirus. Relatively small doses of the drug BNT162b1 after administration to the human body can produce antibodies in the same volume or more, as in the case of the natural formation of antibodies after recovery from COVID-19.
The so-called ½ phase has demonstrated that the vaccine is non-toxic and triggers an immune response that prepares the body to counter the virus.
A total of 45 volunteers aged 18 to 55 years participated in the trials; they received two doses of the drug – vaccines or placebo – with a difference of 21 days.
After a second dose of the vaccine, some of the participants had a fever. Such a reaction was expected, and most importantly, the volunteers developed the same antibodies to coronavirus as the ill patients with COVID-19, in the same or greater volume.
