In the family of the deceased, his older brother first fell ill, who was also not vaccinated, but had no contraindications, the Center for Public Health of Ukraine reports.

The department reminds about the critical need for the formation of collective immunity at a level of at least 95% in order to protect those who cannot be vaccinated due to contraindications.
Measles incidence in Ukraine and the world
Measles – what is it? An infectious disease transmitted from a sick person to a healthy person by airborne droplets, that is, by sneezing, coughing or talking to the patient. Measles virus can live in the air and on surfaces for up to two hours.
Since the outbreak of measles (summer 2017), 40 people have died in Ukraine, and more than 115,000 people have become ill.
For reliable protection against the disease, all children should receive both the first and second doses of the measles vaccine in a timely manner. Revaccination is not necessary if you have been vaccinated in childhood (1 and 6 years old).
At first, outbreaks of infection in Ukraine affected more people than all of Europe together.
