Russian scientists for 14 years studied the effects of electromagnetic radiation from cell phones on students and came to disappointing conclusions.
Long-term studies were carried out in Khimki near Moscow. Research participants – a group of scientists from the Institute of Biochemical Physics. N.M. Emanuel of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Russian National Committee for Protection against Non-ionizing Radiation, and students of the local Lyceum No. 10, and then Lyceum No. 17. The purpose of the research is to find out whether the electromagnetic radiation generated by mobile communications has a negative effect on the body of schoolchildren.
Sadly, the results of unprecedented monitoring are not encouraging. After 14 years of observation, it turned out that active users of mobile phones slowed down the reaction to light and sound signals, the number of errors in writing increased noticeably, the performance indicators decreased, attention and semantic memory decreased.
The candidate of biological sciences was told about the monitoring details by a senior researcher at FSBIU named after N.M. Emanuel RAS ”Natalia Khorseva:“ In addition to the main group, which included children – users of mobile phones (1161 people), a control group was formed, the participants of which did without these devices (370 people). The fact of having a control group is an indisputable advantage of our research. ”
And what did this comparative analysis show? In children using mobile phones, simple auditory and visual-motor reactions slowed down compared to the control group. Also, 39.7% of gadget users reported an increase in fatigue rate (in a third of them the increase was significant), in half of gadget lovers, the performance indicator decreased.
In addition, it turned out that only in 8.5% of children the level of formation of fine motor skills of the hand is within the age norm.
Representatives of the supervisory agencies – Rospotrebnadzor and Rosobrnadzor – took scientists seriously and have already issued recommendations to limit the use of gadgets in schools.
