Types of burns
1 degree – superficial burn: on the skin a noticeable redness, after a few hours it disappears.
Grade 2 is also superficial redness, but over time, yellowish blisters may appear.
Grade 3 – the burn reaches the germinal layer of the dermis, the damaged area dies and a noticeable scar forms.
Grade 4 – a burn seizes fiber, muscle, and more. The consequences can be very serious.
How to treat burns?
Treatment of burns 1 and 2 degrees: immediately after injury, it is necessary to cool the skin by rinsing with cold water. Usually, when people are scalded, they pour cool water on the sore spot until the pain passes, which takes no more than a minute, and then smear the place of the burn with cream.
What to do with burns
However, the tissues are still full of excess heat, and the fatty substance, which is used from above, lies with an airtight pillow. This prevents the heat from leaving, which can lead to an even more severe burn. It is better not to stop the water for about ten minutes, and you can still apply a cold compress.
After cooling the burn, use an external spray containing dexpanthenol. This will improve skin repair. It can be used by both adults and children.
What can not be done
Put an ice cube – this can cause microdamage. Also, do not lubricate the burn with fat sour cream, butter or cream – this will interfere with the hardening of the skin. Punching the bubbles, because this way you can bring the infection into the wound.
