American scientists conducted a study involving 2,000 patients who underwent cardiac catheterization. Scientists have been monitoring patients for more than four years and have found that regular intermittent fasting is effective for increasing longevity.

How was the experiment
Those patients who adhered to daily fasting live longer in comparison with those who did not practice fasting.
Interval fasting also reduces the risk of heart failure.
Participants practiced fasting once a month.
To understand the effect of starvation and exclude the likelihood of other factors, scientists took into account the concomitant diseases of volunteers, the presence of bad habits, medicines, demographic and socio-economic factors.
Scientists have tried to understand how starvation affects heart function.
The benefits of fasting
Scientists conclude that the obvious advantages of starvation are that it affects the level of hemoglobin, the number of red blood cells, and autophagy processes.
All of these factors are associated with a reduced risk of heart failure and coronary heart disease.
This is another example of regular fasting contributing to better health and longer life, ”said Benjamin Horn, author of the study and director of cardiovascular and genetic epidemiology at the International Health Institute.
It takes about 12 hours to activate the positive effects of fasting, however, if you fast regularly, the time it takes to start the process is reduced.
This factor also explains why fasting between dinner and breakfast the next day is beneficial.
It is important that there is nothing between at least 8 hours between dinner and breakfast, and preferably 12 hours

Scientists warn that not everyone can starve. Patients with cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, diabetes who are in the active phase of treatment should not be starved.
Also, do not starve pregnant, the elderly, adolescents and people with eating disorders.
In general, fasting is best practiced under the supervision of a physician.
And if you have heart disease and you are taking certain medications, you definitely need to consult a doctor to avoid the negative effects of a combination of drugs with starvation.
