Aghasi Tavadyan, an expert on statistics and modeling at the Center for Economic Research, divided all regions of Russia into three sectors, depending on the COVID-19 incidence index. This indicator demonstrates how quickly a person picks up an infection from another infected person.
The Belgorod region is located in the yellow sector, which indicates the average incidence of coronavirus infection. With our region, there are another 30 subjects of the Russian Federation.
The number of regions in the red sector has increased by eight over the past month, which the expert associates with the beginning of the school year and the detection of asymptomatic cases. At the same time, Aghasi Tavadyan notes that there is no risk of a sharp outbreak of COVID-19, since the spread of infection was not artificially interrupted.
