The nature of oncology, scientists have not yet comprehended, but there are a number of risk factors that significantly increase the likelihood of cancer.
Among them are some products. The list of the most dangerous carcinogenic products was voiced by the chief oncologist of the Russian Ministry of Health, Andrei Kaprin.
Unfortunately, due to the aging of the population, the diagnosis of cancer is becoming more common. Today, cancer is on the first place (in Russia – on the second) among the causes of mortality.
In recent years, more and more breakthrough drugs and technologies appear that allow stopping malignant processes. However, we all know that any disease is easier to prevent than to fight it.
Risk factors for the development of malignant processes have been known for a long time: it is obesity, a sedentary lifestyle, bad habits, including unhealthy diet both in terms of regimen (it is believed that quickly absorbed and poorly chewed food can affect the development of stomach and intestinal cancer) in terms of grocery set.
Reducing the risk of cancer can be, if you significantly limit in your diet, and even better and completely eliminate from it the products that were publicly announced by the chief oncologist of the Russian Ministry of Health, Andrei Kaprin.
FIRST IS FAT FOOD
But, of course, not all sorts of fats are meant. Recall that fats are useful and even vital. These are called polyunsaturated fats, which are found in vegetable oils, avocados, sea fish, nuts, seeds. However, there are saturated fats, which should be avoided in food.
Such fats are in natural products, mainly meat and dairy. Therefore, doctors do not recommend abusing fatty meats, milk, sour cream, fat cheeses, etc.
Yet most of the trans fats, recognized by the World Health Organization as the most dangerous component of nutrition from all points of view, are synthesized artificially. Numerous studies have shown that regular trans fat consumption accelerates the aging process and the development of age-related diseases. They can be found in various kinds of convenience foods, fast food, confectionery (sweets, cakes, cakes, waffles, etc.), sausage gastronomy.
Trans fats appeared relatively recently – their story began with the invention of margarine. At first, it was declared superfood, and after thirty years, after analyzing the sharply increased mortality from cardiovascular diseases, they recognized it as a very dangerous product. To this day, margarines are widely used in the food industry, adding them to chips, popcorn, donuts, mayonnaise, dumplings, cheese, ice cream, sausages, etc.
In addition, trans fats are formed as a result of culinary processing of food, in particular when frying until golden brown, even if initially they were useful products such as fish or vegetables.
In many countries (Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Switzerland) passed laws prohibiting trans fat in food products completely. In Russia, they are only talking about it.
In our country there is not even labeling of products with trans fats (although such an initiative is periodically discussed). However, a corrosive buyer may find the necessary information on the label: components such as margarine, spread, vegetable fat, modified vegetable fat, hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated vegetable oils, salomas, milk fat replacer, special purpose fat, cooking oil, cocoa butter substitutes, They speak about the presence of trans fat in the product.
SECOND – RED MEAT
Numerous studies have shown the link between consuming large amounts of red meat, and especially its processed products, and the development of colorectal cancer (bowel cancer), which has been increasing in recent years.
For example, the results of long-term observations of 500 thousand volunteers in different countries showed that 2.5 thousand of them developed intestinal cancer. And 20% more often the tumor was observed in those who ate about 76 grams of red and processed meat per day.
In addition, the risk for those who ate about 54 grams of meat per day was increased by 15% compared with those who consumed about eight grams.
The doctors do not urge to abandon red meat and its products, but it is advised to seriously limit yourself to it (no more than once a week no more than 100 grams).
Meanwhile, a number of studies have shown that the risk of intestinal cancer is significantly reduced in those people who regularly consume a large amount of fiber, which is in fresh vegetables, fruits, sauerkraut. Also note that fiber is not rich in potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, bananas and grapes.
THIRD HAZARDOUS PRODUCT – ALCOHOL
As noted by oncologist Andrei Kaprin, alcohol abuse affects the development of all types of cancer. If, for example, we speak about bowel cancer, then research has shown that if the safe standard of alcohol recommended by the World Health Organization (35 grams of alcohol per day) exceeds only 10 grams, the risk of developing the disease will increase by 8%.
FOURTH PRODUCT – SUGAR
For all the years of the existence of sugar in the rational human diet, not a single study has appeared in the world that would prove its benefit. But the studies that prove his harm – a huge amount, including in terms of oncological processes.
First of all, simple carbohydrates, which include sugar, are processed by our body into fats and lead to excess weight, which in itself is a risk factor for the development of oncology and many other diseases (diabetes, cardiovascular, etc.)
Recent studies by Americans on mice have shown that mice fed with sugar had tumor processes that occurred faster and were more active than in the group that did not give sweets at all.
"Fatty food, various food additives, including those used in fast food, red meat in an incredible amount, alcoholism, a sedentary lifestyle and obesity – are factors that are definitely considered carcinogenic," said the chief oncologist.
